Cheryle Sloan Obituary

Cheryle L. Sloan of North Wales passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was 77 years old and was the beloved wife of Lynn C. Sloan with whom she had shared 56 years of marriage. Cheryle was born in Philadelphia, daughter of the late William and Ruth Millberger.

Cheryle enjoyed bowling and playing bingo at Neshaminy Falls where she and Lynn lived. She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church for over 40 years, and participated in the church's Youth Ministry, Women's Ministry, and many other church functions.

Cheryle prioritized family above all. Whether it was at cheerleading competitions, baseball fields, soccer fields, volleyball courts, or dance recitals, Cheryle was actively engaged in the lives of her children and grandchildren - always there with a smile to celebrate the highs and a hug to comfort the lows. As her children grew, Cheryle was there to support and guide them, chaperoning many of their school trips, and embracing their friends as her own. That grace and love extended to the children she cared for outside of her immediate family and into her church family at St. John's. She supported the Youth Group first as a parent chaperone, and loving that experience, grew to become a Counselor and mentor to many children. She supported the Confirmation program as a Table Host and Leader, as well as making banners for each child as they celebrated their Confirmation. Her core belief of love, caring, and inclusion of family, friends, and the children of St. John's will continue on in those that knew and loved her.

In addition to her husband Lynn, Cheryle is survived by her children, Kimberly Katz and her husband Steven, Douglas Sloan and his wife Laurie, and Jeffrey Sloan. Cheryle also is survived by her grandchildren Katelyn, Jeffrey, Connor, and Matthew, her great grandson Landon, and her brother William Millberger, Jr.

Relatives and friends will be received by her family on Thursday night from 6pm to 8pm at Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Road, Hatboro and again on Friday at 10am at St.John's Lutheran Church, 505 N. York Road, Hatboro, and are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 11am.
